Promoting Self Development
We will encourage all our members to develop their own individual development packs this will raise self-esteem by using individualised support and activity plans, these will include each member’s aspirations likes and hobbies. These bespoke activity plans help us understand and plan activities. This will also encourage them to participate and enjoy all aspects of activities and gives all shining stars members a voice.
To ensure that both the personal care needs and emotional needs of members are met we aim to provide a safe enjoyable environment designed to meet their needs.
Becoming A Shining Star
To ensure that all potential members who wish to use our day service fully understand what we provide as a service before they make that important choice. We offer an introduction meeting for you and your family, this can be onsite here at shining stars or at your own home. This is to ensure that the transition and planning are structured and smooth ensuring that the new member remains calm, settled and the prospect of uncertainty and change is reduced.
During your introduction meeting we will have time to discuss:
- Health, Behavioural support and any Physical needs
- Practical skills
- Any daily support needs
- Members’ likes, dislikes, hobbies, and aspirations they may have.
New members will have an opportunity to visit Shining Stars. This would be an informal visit to view the facilities, meet other members and staff. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and speak to staff and members so that you are able to make meaningful decisions regarding your care provider.
